Zamin Ferrous owns advanced exploration licenses covering a significantly large iron ore deposit divided between the towns of Ferreira Gomes and Tartarugalzinho in the northern state of Amapá, Brazil.
- 500 million tonnes of potential resource.
- 5,000 m plus of drilling has been completed to date.
- Ongoing 2011 drilling program planned to drill more than 15,000 m to produce JORC compliant resource statement.
- The ore is competent magnetite-silicate that is upgraded by magnetic separation and grinding.
- Environmental and Mining License expected Q4 2011
- Production started in Q2 of 2011 under experimental mining license with objective to produce lumps and sinter feed fines with Fe grade of 62%.
- First shipment was made in 2Q of 2011 to China.
- The current production will be transported from the processing plant at Ferreira Gomes minesite via roadways to the terminal in the public port ‘Cia Docas de Santana’, located at Santana, Amapá.
- A Concept study was completed in conjunction with ProMet Engineers, Australia in June 2011.
- Further studies for a 8 Mtpa production are planned subsequent to the JORC compliant resource statement.
- Partly installed pig iron blast furnace, is being studied for completion along with a sinter plant.
