Zamin Ferrous seeks to be responsive to community needs enabling it to anticipate and address impacts and identify and work with the needs and priorities of local people. Respect for human and cultural rights is also a key part of Zamin’s approach to these communities.

Zamin Ferrous has implemented a number of community development programs in and around the areas where it operates. These include training and capacitation programs and it is also Zamin’s policy to hire locally wherever possible. In addition, Zamin Ferrous operates a local purchase program prioritising local suppliers of goods and services where equivalent products are available. These activities have led to tangible economic gains for the members of many of the communities in which Zamin is active.

Apart from employment opportunities and other commercial gains, Zamin consults continuously with local communities on a wide range of community programs. These are designed to make a positive difference to these communities and satisfy requirements they may have. These programs include building local infrastructure, education and training, investing in local health and well-being and a range of other initiatives.
